It's not too often that I'll sit down to my wheel with a hunk of clay without a plan. Yesterday I did that and made 2 berry bowls complete with saucers.
I love carving the foot, I could tell you that it's because it's a challenge but really, I think it's how the ribbons of clay peel away under my trimming tool that really attracts me.

When I took this picture I didn't realize how messy my wedging table was, it becomes a catch-all when I get busy and judging from this picture... it's doing it's job.
