I feel dirty and I'm blaming Michael Jackson

Ok so Michael Jackson, someone claims they have a monkey haunted by M.J and they are selling it on ebay.

So on facebook....
I love that woman... I'd love Michael Jackson's monkey too but someone stole it out from under me (that sounded dirty).

Because I'm impatient?

My kiln is cooling, I hate waiting, I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting to see all the little goodies the fat man in red has left me. But sad to say, no fat man tonight, just a fat me in blue lol. Ok so I peeked, I couldn't help  myself, I'm impatient. Allegedly. OK I am. I opened my kiln briefly and snatched  a little dish and I love it!!! I may have to *cough* keep this as a product sample or something. It's a hand built soap dish with a hand built daisy. I think it's my first ever hand built flower actually.
And I'm watching the CMA's, Yay! for Lady Antebellum for winning the 1st award of the night. They won single of the year for their song "I need you now". They should probably thank the radio stations for playing the hell out of it ;o)

Pickles bologna and wine oh my...

It's been a very long day, I woke up early this morning and have been working feverishly in my studio most of the day and night. It's after midnight and I've about called it quits, I'm waiting for my kiln to trip off, hopefully within the next few hours so I can get to bed. Today I made and decorated 54 small dishes (there were 55 but one died from a sudden fall) and a few hand built tumblers.
A few of my little dishes

My tumblers are hand built from a slab of clay, I added buttons just for the cuteness of it. I'm blaming the pickles...
So during my clay filled night I got the munchies. This was the best sandwich ever made, I'm sure of it and it totally deserved a picture. Bologna, mustard and a big ginormous dill pickle sliced to fit, kinda.
Pickles, bologna, wine and clay = heaven

Tart warmers

I've just completed a new load of tart warmers. If you are unfamiliar with what a tart is...

haha! ok, really I'm kidding. Probably.

A friend of mine sells the most wonderful scented wax tarts in her Etsy shop. I'll have my tart warmers ready for sale next week online.

Buzzards circling me

Well the past few weeks have been rough in Deniseland. My youngest son (age 18) left the nest. He decided that he wanted to go and live in Maryland (where we are originally from) so he is living with my folks until he can get on his feet, which is kinda funny because his moving brought me to my knees :o(
Being a mom is rough stuff I tell ya, I miss him terribly. I've had bunches of family stuff going on but hopefully everything is settled down now, my father in-law was released from the nursing home and my dad had surgery.

I'm happy to report that I'm back to work doing what I love most, making pottery. My Etsy shop has been closed for weeks, I'll be reopening this week, just in time too... the buzzards were circling me! no kidding, have a look at this picture.
Circling my back yard last night.
I had my first firing in weeks yesterday and unloaded my kiln this afternoon. I'm happy to say everything turned out wonderfully including my new glaze. My new glaze shows as almost a cobalt blue when fired over the red clay. I love the richness in the color and can't wait to see how it does over a lighter colored clay. This load won't make the Etsy shop, it's going straight to The Plum Nelly shop in Chattanooga.
Cornbread bakers
Here are a few more shots of yesterday's firing.
I love the rootbeer brown and the purples and greens in this mug.
With the holiday season quickly creeping up on me, I'm planning to keep my nose to the grind stone.

New cupcake stands

Here's a peek at a few of my newest cupcake stands, they can also double as candle pillars/stands. These are only available at Plum Nelly in Chattanooga right now. I haven't listed any of them online, sorry. However if you are in the Chattanooga area you must go there, it's one of the coolest shops in the area.

4 eyes

I got my glasses today, they came in early. I was at the eye doctor forever this morning again waiting to get waited on and then getting fitted with them. I went with transition lenses but because they don't get as dark as I like, I got sunglass lenses that clip on. Then my youngest son Levi and I went to Hobby Lobby, I swear he is more dangerous in that store then I am. He has terrible allergies and has discovered that lavender clears his nasal passages and the kid can breath without having to take drugs for it. So While at Hobby Lobby we bought supplies so he and I can make candles together using fresh lavender and he's  making the essential oils himself from the lavender plants that he planted outside of my studio for me this past spring. No doubt that he's my child :o)
He's now building a metal working forge in the backyard, that mind is always working, I love his craftiness.
