Organize = the word I hate most

I say and have said for years that I'm going to get organized, why is it so hard?
Well I started, baby steps right?
I thought this would be big enough to hold all of my stamps, apparently not, but it's better then what it was.
I use to have my cookie cutters scattered about my studio and look at this...
I have them in one place now... Ooooo
1 drawer full
I even cleaned all of my brushes properly and realigned the bristles, sometimes (most of the time) I leave them sitting in the brush holder aka used Chinese food soup container with the bristles down which is stupid because they get bent out of shape, especially if you have a long bristled liner brush. I fixed them all today and will make a note to myself to leave the bristles up.

And then I found myself surrounded by Ninja's

I was sketching on some plates a few days ago, actually preparing to do "cookies for Santa" plates and then Ninja's popped into my head. I had some input from my brother and my friend Elisabeth and this happened.
Perfect for bad ass dinners don't ya think? Don't worry, no harm will come to you unless you don't eat all of your veggies :o) These guys will be available in my Etsy shop hopefully by the weekend.

Back to work!

A new mug form I'm working on.
I've had the idea in my head for a while now to make an angel, I came up with this little cutie.

So it's back in the studio for me. I'm still making cookie monster type mugs for those of you waiting or wanting to be added to the waiting list :o)

A visit back home

The last several weeks have been nothing short of chaotic for me. I've settled down and settled in again which means I'm back to work. Yay! I went back home for a few weeks and met up with some old friends and spent some quality family time. I was able to go and watch my super awesome niece win the champion ship game for girls fast pitch softball! It was a great game, I think the final score was 13-3.
My niece Taylor getting her trophy! Yay! Taylor!

And of course some silly time with Aunt Denise ;o)

I met up with some old friends at a local hometown bar, their band was playing and seriously... I was blown away, they were absolutely wonderful! I SO Needed this time out. I had a great night and made it in by 4:15am which my dad pointed out to me when he saw me sitting on the porch steps talking to my brother lol

Recently....

I've been flooded recently with requests for my cookie monster type dunk mug. If you would like to be on the waiting list for one, I promise I have a new batch coming soon! You can email me privately to request that I contact you when they are ready.

Well last week we were ravaged with tornadoes in the south. I feel very fortunate that we were only left without power for a few days while everything else around us is torn all to hell. I've honestly have never seen anything like it. My street was left untouched, I did end up with someones house insulation scattered about the yard and I have a tree that is now leaning to the side but other then that my property was untouched.
Truth be known I slept through the first round of tornadoes in the area. I guess my momma was right, she always said "you could sleep through a tornado". Ha! Who knew...
Of course it put my work on hold for a few days, electric pottery wheel and electric kilns... *Almost* makes me wanna build a wood fired kiln and get a kick wheel LOL ok not really. Maybe o.O

April fool

Ok so of course in my usual brat-hole fashion I pulled an April fools prank. I posted this picture on Facebook with this explanation (mind you, I had been on facebook all night talking about Grey's Anatomy and cutting up with friends), "After 5 hellish hours in the Emergency room tonight, I get this. Thank goodness it's my left arm and not my right. Long story short, mouse in my studio jumped out of a box I was digging through and scared me, I tripped over a box of clay and tahdah..."

Not even my arm, I found this pic online
Well my step mom see's it and tells my dad and late this morning my phone rings and it's my step mom Cookie, She's like, "Denise... are you ok?" I giggled and immediately told her April fools. Then she proceeds to tell me that dad wanted to call me early in the morning to see what happened and if I was ok and she wouldn't let him because she was sure I was on pain medication and I was probably still sleeping (yes I know.... one more reason why I'm going to hell, right?). So after I get off the phone with them one of my brothers call me and he is laughing, he said, "Denise... you should have heard them this morning, I just sat back and listened and laughed and I thought, Really? it's April Fools day and you guys are gonna believe anything she says? Do y'all even know her?" Then he and I had a good laugh about it.

My oldest son Michael got me, he came home from work in a awful pissy mood. After being home for a few minutes he lets loose with, "Well... you  aren't going to believe this, I got a damn speeding ticket (which wouldn't be his first, actually more like 3rd). I immediately get upset and start the usual mom rant about going too fast and yada yada yada then he has the nerve to say April fool! to me and then laughed and pointed at me with "hahaha oh my god you are so easy".  I honestly don't know where he gets it ;o)
